Social Media Manager

 

At Wayne Metro — a local non profit assisting low-income residents in Wayne County — my role primarily consisted of social media management for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Under strict guidelines, I published on and managed these pages from July 17 - November 22, communicating agency news and information to our audience and establishing strategies to grow the number of followers and their engagement.
To the right is an example of the type of post I was asked to create and share. My work included planning and posting paid advertisements on Facebook and Instagram.

Email Marketing & Newsletters

 

In addition to managing social media platforms, I also managed external communication in the form of mass emails using the Mailchimp platform. Such emails included quarterly newsletters and more frequent updates and event invitations. The quarterly external newsletters provided agency news and updates, and were sent to an audience of 9,000 people — comprised of stakeholders, policy makers, clients, and more.

One of my favorite projects as a digital communications coordinator was producing short videos promoting Wayne Metro’s Head Start programs. In addition to assisting on set, I coordinated the subjects, developed their scripts, and ensured the post-production process presented the necessary messages and emotions. Check the videos out below!
